Sometimes I wonder why I deserve so much goodness in my life. I am so blessed with good people around me. It was too quick of a trip considering we just came back from our Hong Kong trip, but we figured this is the best time for us to celebrate our hard work for 2017. So this is us cranky at 7 am in Krabi! Woohoo!
First things first, we put our bags in the hotel and we are ready to roll. The best thing about Krabi is that most of the food here is Halal. Not surprising as they are about 40% of the Muslim population. Here we are just strolling around Ao Nang Beach. Basically the most touristy area. You know I used to like to go to the off beaten track or where the locals eat out or hang out, but certain trips especially the short ones, like this, I feel that the best things of what a place can offer are usually at the touristic area. I mean they put in a lot of effort to make these places beautiful and offer us the best hospitality and service. So why go somewhere else? (Debatable I know)
I think that I've matured along the years to enjoy better things in life, even if it cost a bit more. Anyway!
I haven't showered since last night, so the best way to cover up is with a cowboy hat, big sunglasses and of course red lipstick.
This is Noy, my bestie who is also our official Thai tour guide (hehe!). This is her doing her magic at the counter. As this is only a 4 days trip, we just want to be cool and relax and maybe just a day on Island Hopping.
As most of us were tired that day, we just decide to go out for drinks (and eat lots of banana pancake) at a nice restaurant with a live band, while Ashraf decides to stay in. Boo. Tomorrow, Island Hopping!

The next day, we started the day at 7 am! Oh, yea. Island hopping to 4 islands. Honey, one English breakfast with orange juice before we go, please! Here we are now in the pickup truck heading to the meeting point where our boat awaits.
The first stop was Phi Phi Island, we all know this is where The Beach was shot, but let me tell you now and you deserve to know. The most beautiful paradise, with crystal clear water and the white sandy beach, has turned into an overpopulated tourist attraction. There is nothing to do here other than people watching. I remembered I came here more than 11 years ago (how old am I again?) and it was nice and peaceful. What happened to this paradise? I guess us being here...we are part of the problem.
We didn't take many photos after the first island. The rest of the other islands we visited were not as crowded, but still beautiful nonetheless. We swam, snorkeled and stopped over for a good lunch. That pretty much takes up most of our energy. But with this crazy clan, it was all fun and laughter.
Like a clockwork, we are back to our hotel at 5 pm. The day is still so early, so we decide to freshen up and play a little dressed up with our cool braids and golden freckles, and we are ready to paint the town red. Just FYI, my version of paint the town red is to stuff our face and play cards. Preferably with a banana pancake with lots of Nutella. That pretty much sums up our day!
BY THE WAY, WHY DOES NOY ALWAYS LOOK SO PRETTY!!?
We rest really well last night, and only discussed our next adventure for the trip at noon. We asked around and brochures after brochures later, we finally decide that our next adventure will be to Railay Beach. Free & Easy, this is always the best. No schedule, no time constraint.
So we took a longtail boat by the pier to go to Railay Beach. It probably took us about 15 minutes and 60 baht per pax to get there.
This is us... excited and happy when we first arrived. But what happened next was unexpected!
You guess it right! It rained cats and dogs! We didn't take any pictures for obvious reasons, but it was the best time I had in a long time! We realized later that the last boat heading to Krabi is halt and will only resume the next day because of the heavy rain!
So we were kinda stuck, but let's worry about that later!
Swimming and meditating in the rain is so much for fun! !
This is the last picture I took after my batt went completely flat. Soaking wet from the rain, with no backup plan, no boat to bring us back, no cash and no place to stay, we figured we are going to make the best of our situation. Luckily, on the other side of this island (within walking distance), there is an ATM.
After searching for a place to stay for the night, we finally found huts for rent. Considering that we are stuck, we ended up renting 3 rooms, checking in at midnight and leaving at 7 am in the morning. We didn't have much of a choice, but it was a well-needed rest.
Secretly, I was really excited waking up on this island. I remembered coming here 11 years ago. It was nothing like before, this paradise used to be so quite with just occasional restaurants and nice accommodation, now it is more developed, with many touristic shops, bars etc. Now we even had to queue to buy banana pancakes.
So today, oh yea. We are going to Phra Nang beach, located near Railay East. It just within walking distance from Railay West. it is more popular and busier than Railay West during high season. With duvet-soft white sand, crystal clear water, coral reef, and caves, Ao Phra Nang is the perfect beach.
My favorite picture of me taken in 2007.
It's almost noon, time to head back to the main island, packed up and back to reality!
