Meet Me Halfway - Backpacking in Sri Lanka Part 3
DAY 8
This is our final day in Haputale. Aslam was very nice to bring us to Lipton's Seat, which is about 45 minutes drive from his home. We woke up at 4.30am to catch the sunrise. We were dragging our feet in the morning as we slept really late last night and we had to check out immediately after we come back and continue our journey to Tissa which is another 8 hours bus ride!
The moment we arrived, we completely ignore all the craziness of what's coming and enjoy this beauty. It was totally worth it. Every single second it.

This is us saying very emotional goodbyes to our host family. :(
After arriving in our hotel, we had a little nap and now we are in search for a makan place. Quite impossible to find one in this small town!
This beautiful little girl, just came up to us and say hello! As we walked abt 100m ahead, she actually came running and gave us a biscuit! Like she knew we were super hungry.
It's true what they said that Sri Lankan's may be the friendliest people in the world. We were always greeted by strangers and they always have a smile on their face. We even asked what toothpaste they use as they always have really white and bright smile!
DAY 9
Oh, yea. We saved the best for the last. Yala National Park. Not many animal shots were taken but we managed to see first hand, 'National Geographic style' of a group of wild boar attacking a leopard. Thanks to our driver who waited patiently. This in itself was worth waking up at 4.30am and the expensive ticket.
Always the worst part of the trip is saying goodbyes to Siham and Matthias. Too many good memories we shared. Till we meet again, love.
DAY 10
Stay for the night at Mirissa Beach before heading back to Colombo airport. Another 5 hours ridee! Good thing we had a very good 9 hours sleep. Probably the first since we arrived. Till we meet again Sri Lanka!~
