Shopping in Shenzen - No Kidding
I know this is long overdue... but I guess better late than never! There are so many other trips that I have yet to document but I promised I will make more time to write.
I found it so wonderful that some of the trips that I've written down on this blog actually came in handy! A friend of a friend was planning a trip to Sri Lanka and when they asked me, I actually had the whole trip reference written! Oh yes, it includes my experience, prices, the places and how to get there!
Anyway!
This is our 2nd year anniversary, 20th December, and Christmas is just around the corner. We decided to go to Hong Kong! Why Hong Kong? I don't know, why not! I remembered coming here for Christmas some 10 years ago with ONLY light clothing, you know the kind you bring to a beach holiday. Well, it's 15 degrees! I am a tropical girl, so 15 degrees is freezing cold for me!
Here we are, just arrived in HK airport. It's 18 degrees and I came prepared!
P/S: I know I look like a Christmas tree, I thought it was a good idea, but apparently not.

First things, first. We hired a fancy cab across the highway to Shenzen, China! Most websites said that it was going to take 2 hours and about 200hkd, depending on the traffic, however, it only took us like 45 minutes. Lucky, we took the cab before the peak hours!
After checking in to our hotel, we decide to walk about in the area. We were super exhausted and we probably hit our 20000 steps by 5 pm. And it was a little frustrating because
1) Nobody speaks English (we knew that already, but experiencing it is a different story).
2) My stupid boots are killing me. And I don't even like it to start with.
3) We couldn't find any halal food after walking for hours and we ended up eating Fish Burgers at Mc Donalds!
Better day tomorrow!

The next day, we went to Dongmen District. Massive amount of shops and an overwhelming crowd. Shopping malls after shopping malls, food street after food street, pile and pile of items everywhere! The price ranges from really cheap to very expensive! There is no end to it! Did we buy anything?... Erm.. not really.
And we were soooo happy today as we found several halal restaurants. Chinese food for lunch and Indian food for dinner. Happy tummy, happy me!
One thing that deserves a mention about here in Shenzhen is the tea.. they served the freshest tea ever!
We are just here for 3 days, now all packed and ready to Jalan Jalan before heading back to Hong Kong Island. Thank you, Shangri-La! You have been good to us!
